My story
Chapter 1 – Hired
It all started back in 2010 when I (Lucah Rosenberg-Lee), got my dream job at Apple. Until then, marketing, branding & sales were abstract concepts I only merely understood, but what I observed in those early years on the job changed the course of my life forever.
Chapter 2 – Dreams
There, I was surrounded by creative thinkers. For most of my life I'd been known as, "the kid with the camera". Going around recording my friends and making little movies. My best friend Johnny's parents owned a clothing store and in 2012 he decided to start his own brand. He asked me if I'd be the head of Content Marketing and I said of course. We built the site, shot photos and videos and even held a fashion show in New York City. That same year, he suddenly passed away and just like that, it was over. I realised I didn't just want to work a job anymore, I wanted to build my own company, make money, achieve financial impact and never look back. I decided to start helping businesses with their content marketing and learned how to run Facebook ads. I ran Facebook & Instagram ads for all sorts of companies that were looking to grow using the internet, running thousands in ad spend at up to 25x ROAS - but there was a problem.
Chapter 3 – New levels
Sometimes the ads would work really well, and sometimes they wouldn't. Even though the exact same tactics were being used. Although I was known for social ads, people started to come to me with all kinds of digital marketing questions. What platforms should they use? How much money should they be spending on paid traffic? What kind of content should they be making? That's when it became clear - ads alone are only as good as the content
in the ad, which is only as good as the
brand and the brand is only as good as the
strategy. My consulting took on a new dimension as I dove deeper into the heart of what great marketing and Brand Storytelling is really all about. Which lead me to running the Creative Studio
Monday Media, where we work with clients like Estee Lauder, M.A.C. & Bacardi.
Chapter 4 – Key Ingredients
After working with hundreds of teams across various industries helping them use paid and organic strategies to attract more of the right customers I noticed that too many companies were focused on their revenue numbers at the detriment of their profitability. As an entrepreneur I've learned that margin is everything. Not just financial margin, but emotional, health and family margin too, you need time in your life to breathe and your business should be the engine that allows that to happen. I've made many pivots over the years, shedding the parts of my life and business that were no longer working and focusing on scaling (with simplicity) the parts that bring in the highest yield. We use these same system at the production studio as I do with our clients; avoid complexity, honor what's not working by letting it go and get super clear on the path to the life and business you truly want.
